I've been working on some sketches of Spider-Man.
Well, Peter Parker more specifically.
I have this idea that he should always have messy hair from wearing that mask.
I'm happy to hear what you think.

We know nothing at all..
Queen will be releasing a new studio single with Paul Rodgers (Bad Company) for free via their website for World AIDS Day.
This is a big deal to me.

I'm losin' it...

Ahh, comics.
I haven't done so in a while, so I thought I'd post some quick reviews.
Very quick reviews.
Death of the New Gods #3
Every bit as awful as it looks.
New X-Men #Whatever : Messiah Complex Part Something
Who the hell cares?
Sub-Mariner #6
The only reason anyone even noticed this comic exists is because of Namor's crotch-fist on the cover. Well played, Mr. Turner.
Invincible #46
As usual, this book is great and feels like it's only 5 pages long. I need more Invincible every month.
Blue Beetle #21
DC to readers : Spectre still around! Also still black guy!
Thunderbolts #118
Marvel to readers : This (bad) joke of a story is still going! Please care!
Lord Havok and the Countdown Blah-bibbity-blah!
DC to readers : This is a real comic! Really!
Spider-Man : One More Day Part 3
The middle-aged men in charge of Marvel to readers : We're having our mid-life crisis and we're taking you with us!
Green Lantern Corps #18
DC to readers : Isn't this Sinestro Corps War awesome? Please care about Sodam Yat! Please? PS - Fuck Kyle Rayner.
Batman #671
Ra's al Ghul, who's whole deal is that he keeps coming back from the dead, has come back from the dead again. For some reason we're supposed to care.
Also, Tony Daniels? Really? Really? I'm sure Grant Morrison's loving that.
All Star Batman #8
Frank Miller continues to write one of the worst comics ever.
Jim Lee continues to draw it with a straight face.
DC continues to pay them both truckloads of money for it.
Even if you're enjoying the comic on an ironic level and treating it as a comedy/parody, it still reads like it was written by a group of 8-13 year olds trying to make it sound tough and cool.
Child writer to bully : "Comics are not for little kids! Look at how many swear words Batman can say!"

I've gotta time bomb..

Progressive Boink gives us the 40 Worst Rob Liefeld drawings.
"A fun Liefeld drinking game: take a shot for every pouch he draws on a character. Oh great, now you have alcohol poisoning."

The only thing that's left to do...
Evel Knievel has died.
"They started out watching me bust my ass, and I became part of their lives," Knievel said. "People wanted to associate with a winner, not a loser. They wanted to associate with someone who kept trying to be a winner."
I think that's the important thing. You just have to keep trying.

As you can see..

Inking and coloring a picture completely takes the fun out of drawing for me.
I'm not particularly good at either and so I always end up with these "finshed" pieces that I know could be better if more talented individuals handled those other two aspects.
Coloring especially.
Also, I never feel like I can get anything to scan and look anything like it looks on paper.
I sincerely wish I knew how real artists do it.

I did not mean to blow your mind..

I'm sure we've already discussed this, but if you're ever given a chance to be granted the wish of becoming any fictional character can we all agree you must (read : must) choose Bugs Bunny?
I don't think I really need to go into why, but I will.
1) You can't beat him. You may be able to get the better of him momentarily, but in the end he's always going to win. It's always going to be Duck Season if you try to stick it to Bugs.
2) a. He's funny.
b. He's a dick. Which means not only is he going to win in the end, he's going to make fun of you and make you look like a total ass in the process.
3) Unlike Batman, Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Freddie Mercury, and whatever other badass fictional character you're thinking of, he's never going to die.
4) He looks surprisingly hot in drag. This will come in handy a lot more often than you might think.
5) He doesn't take himself too seriously.
6) He's a stinker.
7) This is my final thought on the matter (though I know I'm leaving lots of good reasons out) and I think it sums up why he's the only choice. He basically believes in three things : Carrots, sticking up for the little guy, and fucking with people. I do not believe it gets much better than that.

Until you kiss me...
The Weekly Crisis has a great piece up on Michael Turner and his fear of feet. Enjoy it as I did.
Also, in case you missed it, last week was the Best Week Ever for comics.
All Star Superman and Scott Pilgrim.
In the same week.
Tons of other great stuff, but really, those two are all I need to mention for you to understand how great it was. If I were a better artist I'd try to draw a picture of the two of them together. They'd probably be high-fiving or something similarly awesome. (Author's note : If you're a great artist and you just read that, you've just read my Christmas wishlist.)
Oh, speaking of awesome Superman team-ups, check out what Jon Morris drew for me!
SUPERMAN AND DEVIL DINOSAUR!
He said it was the weirdest request he'd ever received and there was no way he could turn it down. I win.
So, Rich tells us DC is killing Bruce Wayne, having him come back as a New God in the Fifth World, and be replaced as Batman by Jason Todd as designed by Alex Ross.
That sentence was so insane it could only have come from the mind of Grant Morrison.
And since this is apparently all part of Grant's masterplan, I'm willing to trust him and not get angry with rage over the idea of them killing Batman.
Good luck with the rest of the fanboys though, Grant.

For fun..

One of my all time favorite pictures from the good ol' days.
Note to self : It's almost Thanksgiving, do not get sick.
Note to self #2 : I think I want to write a song or title an album "Jealous of Cereal" as that's a good name for a song or an album. (The center of the universe is planet Jealous of Cereal. Wow, who'll get that one?)
I stole this from The Ballroom Scientist.
My answers aren't nearly as fun as his, and for that, you have my apologies.
Put your iTunes on shuffle and see what your life's soundtrack is! No cheating!
-My deepest secret is: "One Man Army" by Our Lady Peace
-My favorite thing to do is: "Feeling Like I Do" by Superdrag
-High school was like: "World Inside the World" by Rhett Miller
-How will you die? "Classico" by Tenacious D
-My family is described by the song: "Another Way I Could Do It" by Sloan
-If I got lost on a desert island, I would yell: "Pick It Up and Dial It" by Sloan
-My last words will be: "Evil Woman" by E.L.O.
-My friends see me as: "Big Chair" by Travis
-What I did did last night was: "Slices of You" by Electric Six
-This song will be playing when I meet the love of my life: "Fabulous People" by Electric Six
-When I'm drunk I say: "Won't Back Down" by Fuel (That's right, from the Daredevil Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.)
-At my funeral they'll play: "Badhead" by Blur
-Somewhere in my wedding vows, I will include: "Withered Hope" by They Might Be Giants
-My ultimate song for dancing is: "Still Ill" as covered by Barenaked Ladies
-The story of my life is: "13" by They Might Be Giants
-At my wedding they'll play: "I Know You Well" by Fountains of Wayne
-My birth was like: "Sidewinder" by Avenged Sevenfold
-My theme song: "Meet Me Down on Main Street" from a CD of music from the Disney parks
-My message to the world has always been: "Dethharmonic" by Dethklok (I want to keep my money and give away absolutely nothing to the government..)
-If I reached the top of Mount Everest, what I would scream: "Big Sky" as covered by Elliott Smith
-Will I ever have kids? "Can't You Figure It Out?" by Sloan
-To cheer myself up I: "The N.S." (Live on CBC Radio 3) by Sloan (This song really does cheer me up.)
-My make-out song is: "Infected Girls" by Electric Six (Yes!)
-This song describes my grandparents: "Crying Shame" by Muse (That's a little depressing.)
-My love of life was inspired by the song: "Skip to the End" by The Futureheads (Talk about appropriate.)
-The best thing about me is: "Evilangelist" by Extreme (Cue maniacal laughter.)
-My day will be like: "Took Out a Loan" by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (Ruh-roh.)
-My best friend is like: "Katamari Love ~ Ending Theme" by Yohihito Yano & Shigeru Matsuza

Apologies.
My sincere apologies for the lack of content as of late.
No access to Blogger (suddenly and sadly) at work and a computer on the fritz at home are to blame. (It's not my fault!)
Mysteriously the entire internet is suddenly open to us at work (this is fleeting), so I wanted to give you an update.
I saw mc chris in Nashville Tuesday night. It was awesome. Photos to come, I hope.
I finished Chris Jericho's book last night. The only thing that wasn't great about it was that it wasn't 1000 pages long.
Speaking of Chris Jericho, I doubt there are any wrestling fans reading this, but the rumor is he's returning to WWE on this coming Monday's RAW. Get those Tivo's ready.
I have no problem admitting that the return of Chris Jericho is more than enough reason to get me to start watching wrestling again.
I haven't gotten to play Super Mario Galaxy yet, but I did finally start The Phantom Hourglass and I'm really enjoying it. Curt claims that some day he will write a review of the game for which I have already provided him art.
Also, there's this...
All the chrishaley added content can be accessed by clicking on the picture and enjoying the notes I've placed on the picture.
I think that's all for now.
Don't forget how much I love you.
