The boxing matches happened today (by today I mean Friday even though it's after midnight) as planned, and it was an altogether enjoyable experience to watch and film. I'm fairly certain that some, if not a good bit of the footage filmed will make it onto the "movie". And while we're on the subject, some additional material was indeed filmed today, and Edward and I (and possibly Danny, I haven't talked to him yet to find out) are sporting the battle scars to prove it. Rock and roll.

Another matter of great importance is the fact that today (Friday, Dec. 20) is both Corey and Tara's birthday! I hope you emailed them or called them or gave them something or some such. Anyway, happy birthday to the both of you.

I hope to have a conversation like this some day..

If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to receive either or both of the following for Christmas: one or two. Any of this in a medium is also nice. Don't worry though, I don't really expect any of you to get me any of this stuff... yes, I do.

Today is the big duke-a-roo boxing match between Danny "Mister Fister" Stanford and Bob. I'll be filming the entire thing and hopefully for those of you unable to attend it'll be footage worthy of the next "movie" we're in the midst of developing. If you'd like to attend the fight get in touch with me for info.

Speaking of the previously mentioned "movie", after the fight we hope to film additional material for it, and God willing we'll all come through that without a trip to the hospital. It's also my hope that all of you will think this video's title is as funny as Adam, Danny, Melissa, Tara, and myself thought it was.

There's still time to help spread some Hip Today style holiday cheer to those unfortunate souls that aren't "Friends of Hip Today."

"Cause your head is a brick wall, and your heart is a football, and your eyes broken windows when you cry, it's a good day to die.." - Travis "Good Day to Die"

It's too freaking late for me to be trying to come up with anything for this, and yet here I am. Ok, I've got nothing, I lied. I'm not even going to try, and if you knew how many times I've had to hit "backspace" just to get this wee few sentences typed in you wouldn't want me to be trying either. I'm about two mis-strokes away from "primate" on the typing evolutionary ladder at the moment. I believe I'll go to bed and try this again when the sun is up... oh wait, the sun is already coming up.. crap.

So so so good. I think you know what I'm talking about... or at least you should if you're at this site. More on this later.
The fourth song is "Naked Days" by Creeper Lagoon.

Watch out, because I'm about to drop some knowledge on you kids. Did you know, and this is true, that Willard Scott (yes, the Willard Scott that's a weatherman on that morning news show you're never awake to see) created Ronald McDonald. Don't believe me?

Have a look at the teaser poster for what's sure to be one of 2003's biggest flicks, The Hulk. This is also our first look at what the incredible one is going to look like in the flick. I'll be honest, I'm pretty excited about seeing this.. but that really has nothing to do with the poster, as I was already excited about it.

And while I'm talking about movies that I will be excited about, here's some good news about the upcoming Superman flick.

Speaking of movies in general, I wish there was some way I could show this to every retard that came into Best Buy asking for the "fullscreen" version of something.

The third song is "Foolin'" by Def Leppard. Read below in previous posts for more details if you don't understand what I'm talking about.

The second song is "Stole the Show" by AM Radio. See the idea is you have to keep checking back all through the day to see if I've put the next song on the list up yet. Get it?

I don't remember what I was going to say. Sorry. Maybe I'll think of it later. First person to write me an e-mail and put the word "emperor" in it somewhere gets a dollar.

Wait, forget I said that, I've got a better idea. I'm going to list 15 random songs that I like here on the site. I'll put a new one up every so often over the next few days. The first person to "collect" all 15 songs and e-mail the list to me will get some cash. It won't be like a hundred bucks, but it'll be paper money you can spend on buying something.
The first song is "Warmer Than Fire" by Ash.

I don't know about you, but I think this is pretty funny.

"Don't obey the teacher
Who tells you to shut up
Who'll mold you into useless robots
Who aren't allowed to feel

Just quit your job tomorrow
Just quit your job today
You take a permanent vacation
You're dying everyday
"
- Mourning Widows, "No Regrets"

I doubt most of you will get a chance to, but if Equilibrium is still playing at any theater in your town you must go see it! Im not even playing around about this. If you don't, you'll wish you had.

From now until Tuesday night at midnight I will be trying my best to keep myself locked away from television so as not to accidentally see the new Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers trailer that is floating around the airwaves and the internet. I'm already excited enough about this movie without having this new trailer, which I'm told shows a little too much, spoiling any of the surprises or money shots that I'm paying to see on the big screen. Am I being too wierd? I can never tell.
On the other hand, if you'd like to see the new trailer for X-Men 2, I think that's ok.
This flick looks pretty funny while I'm on the subject of movie trailers.

Now if this doesn't look pretty wicked I don't know what does.

You know kids, there's an awful lot of stuff going on in the world at the moment to make someone, like me or you, pretty scared and/or uncertain about the future. I'm led to believe there's a threat of biological or nuclear warfare from any number of foreign powers, there's .. ahh skip it, I don't feel like getting all serious. Hip Today shouldn't bum you out. So forget all of that, everything is going to be ok.

Today's AM Radio song: "Oh Oh Oh"

The best DVD news I've heard in a while.. click1 and click2.

Andrew WK is up for two awards at the VH1 Big Awards or whatever the hell they're called this year. Anyway, here's the links to the categories he's in so you can support our favorite slammer: Heavy Lifting and Bend and Stretch.

Help me spread a little Hip Today holiday cheer!

Very often this is how I feel..

Have you been getting these AM Radio songs? Well, you'd better be, because they're good. Real good. Here's one of my favorites, Hush.

Tuesday, December 10, 2002

As promised here is another AM Radio song: "Becoming You" (just click on it to hear it, or right click and "Save As.." to make it yours forever)

As promised, albeit a very long time ago, here are my pictures from Halloween 2002. Let me know what you think, won't you?

I'm not saying anyone should get me the medium Red Superman shirt this website has for Christmas, but it is the one Superman shirt I really want that I don't have. That's all I'm saying.

For those of you that have wanted to watch the Shopping Cart Shenanigans Part 1 and have been unable to, hopefully this will let you do so.
Copy this address: http://www.geocities.com/hiptoday3/MOV01007.MPG
Paste that address into your browser thing, and that should let you watch it.
Let me know if it doesn't.
(As I said before, unfortunately this video cuts off right before "Part 2" took place, so we didn't get it recorded. Take my word for it though, it was far more painful, and my butt will attest to that fact.)

Check out this guy's site and Happy Holidays everybody!

AM Radio is currently one of my favorite bands, and they should be one of yours as well.... so to help speed that process along here's their song "If This Is the End of the World". (Just right click on the song title and pick Save As...)
There will be more AM Radio songs for you to download all week.

I'm feeling better than I did when last you heard from me in case you were wondering. Things still aren't as I'd like them to be with a lot of things, but I'm feeling a little less bleak about it all.

I've known a lot of girls before
What's the harm in knowin' one more?
Maybe we could even get together
Maybe you could break my heart next summer
Why bother?
It's gonna hurt me
It's gonna kill when you desert me
...
- Weezer, "Why Bother"

Sometimes you think you've got things all figured out and that you're really in control, and then life decides to show you otherwise in a big way. Maybe I'm just a big baby, but sometimes it seems like everyday it gets harder and harder to want to be alive. Maybe I'll feel different tommorow...

Friday, December 06, 2002

I got this from Shawn in an e-mail and I'll quote him exactly..
"I am sorry because as you know I am not for spewing filth from the internet. But you are not going to believe how unfortunate this poor girl is. This is nothing obscene, but you have to see to believe it."
See for yourself.

Wow... I mean.. wow. The trailer for Equilibrium. Christian Bale further establishes himself as one of my favorite actors.
