Could someone please tell me how I should feel about this?
Keep in mind this is the show that's meant to take the place of Justice League Unlimited, The Batman, AND Legion of Super Heroes.
That's a tall order.
Sure JLU has been gone for a bit, but we just lost The Batman, and the LoSH series finale is this weekend. Legion should have been moved to Cartoon Network in addition to this new show. I really think it would have found a bigger audience there than it was able to on Kids WB.
And why on Earth would they go back to Ollie's old "Christmas costume"?
Don't get me wrong, looking over the show's credits, it all seems to be people I think are very talented.
I don't know.
I hope it's awesome.

even though i only saw a handful of episodes i was a huge fan of "the batman" series. it was interesting mix of the dark and lighter sides of the batman mythos. and it wasn't too anime looking to be distracting. (not the biggest fan of the "pokemon" anime look. teen titans for example was only okay to me)
this incarnation seems to be dangerously leaning more towards the campy side, at least in color story. overall it looks very bruce timm inspired which is always cool. and i like when bats teams up with other heroes, which is what made JLU so damn cool..all the hero team ups!!
guess i'll hold judgement until it airs.
BTW..
have you seen the new sin city...er.. um...i mean "the spirit" poster campaign??
just wondering what your thoughts were on it??
Jason - See, I'd say it looks more like this and this than any of the Timmverse show designs.
Jason - Part 2 - Post to come.
I think it looks very Adam West/Dick Sprang. Very obviously geared towards a younger age group than even The Batman was.
I dunno, so long as it's not as bad as Krypto.
dick sprang is such a great name!
it's right up there with dick trickle and buck naked.
I consider the new artistic style nothing more than an excuse for a new line of toys.
Jason - Can't argue with that.
John - Yeah, see the links in my earlier response to Jason. That was kinda what I was thinking too.
What? This looks totally great. The beauty of serial projects, like comics, is that you can continually reapproach them from different angles.
Mordicai - Oh no, don't get me wrong. I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I'm very eager to see how this show turns out and I have the utmost faith in WB's animation department.
Everyone that cares - Also, I think it is worth mentioning that though the show does look like it's aiming for a younger audience, CN is actually planning on airing the show at 8PM on Friday nights, so maybe it's not going to be as "kiddie" as some people are fearing.
Or maybe more kids are watching cartoons on Friday nights than I know.
I was hoping it would be a continuation of The Batman show. The animation looks kinda kiddie. I'll give it a look when it comes out.
