We will, we will...

Some more of my slap-dash coloring.
I like this much better just as pencils, but I went through the trouble of coloring it, so I can't not post it.
Double negatives be damned!

I like it. A lot, actually. My only nit-pick is the lip color. A little less neutral, maybe?

Dylan - Pinker maybe?

Slightly. I like the value/"dirtiness" of the brown there, but the hue could go a little more pink.

And as someone who has sort of given up on all but a handful of mainstream comics, what the heck is going on with Spidey? I hear some grumbling about the whole Brand New Day thing, but no real spoilers. Spoil me, internets! Now!

Or is this just going to piss me off? Am I better not knowing just how much Marvel is screwing up the 'ol Webhead property?

Dylan - Oh boy.. I don't know if we have time. Basically, Joe Quesada hates that Spider-Man is married and is willing to go to any godawful lengths to make it unhappen. The short of it is Mephisto is going to make a deal (with Pete or MJ) to let Aunt May (who is at death's door)(AGAIN) live if Pete and MJ never got married. I'd go into more detail, but it sickens me.

yeah.

the whole "one more day" storyline seems a bit silly. i mean aunt may is a VERY old lady! she has to pass eventually, and her death and the way peter handles it would probably make for a more emotionally driven story anyway! i know she's an impotant part of peter's life to say the least but c'mon pete...

CUT THE APRON STRINGS!

so instead, pete's gonna sell his soul or some such trash to save an old lady who would probably be better off dead(too harsh??)and no longer suffering in a post civil war universe where her life would be in constant danger anyway.

which is probably what'll happen anyway:pete sells soul, saves aunt, aunt gets hit by car, pete's SCREWED,and without a hot wife!

i only picked up the first two issue's of the storyline cuz i'm a sucker for quesada's art. still debating whether or not to finish the run. should i??

Jason - I know much has already been made of this point elsewhere, but I'd say that the fact that the writer (JMS) wanted his name off the story speaks volumes to the quality of it.. which is to say, no, I wouldn't waste my money.

thanks for the tip.

btw, where do you usually go for your comic related info??

i usually just go to newsarama.com and...HERE!

Jason - Haha! If I'd known someone was using me as a source for comic news I'd probably try to include a little more.
I try to cast a fairly wide net across the various comics blogs and smaller sites as well as hitting Newsarama and CBR as often as possible.

JQ - I also have the good fortune to be friends (via my immediate circle and the internet) with a lot of comic fans, so they'll often let me know about things I've missed or haven't heard about yet.

Okay. I thought I was missing out on something. I'd pieced most of that together from bits here & there but thought, "It can't possibly that stupid." And yet it is.

[sigh]

The sad thing is that I'm not shocked by any of this anymore. They did the same thing with the mutants, rather than finding interesting stories to tell (and after paying Grant Morrison what can only be assumed to be a massive pile of money, Red Bull and pills with names I can't pronounce to revamp - I'd say pretty successfully - the mutant concept) within an existing framework, they just hit the "reset" button and walk away. You can't tell me there are more interesting stories to tell about a single Peter Parker then there are about a married one. It's bull.

Did I just sound like a stereotypical internet comic nerd there? I did, didn't I?
