It is at times like these that I feel it is important for me (and everyone else) to remember that things could be worse and there is still a universal power that moves with us and around us and flows through us...
And is completely fucking awesome!
I know everyone in the world has already seen that picture, but it is comforting.

man, why didn't queen write a song about star wars?! i mean, they referenced it in that one song, but c'mon! that would be the perfect subject matter for an anthem of epic proportions.

I didn't have that part on there at first, but when I published the original post and hit the "View Blog" button to make sure it looked right "The Hero" from the Flash Gordon soundtrack came on the Finetune player over there and I was like, "OH! It should be a Queen song about Star Wars!"
so i see that you and the say it backwards dude have been made famous on neatorama.com where they've credited you two for posting the swap meet find of all finds....

Newsarama's blog picked it up as well. Chris and I will be signing autographs in the lobby. Mine will actually be signed "The Say It Backwards Guy" because that's what they call me on Superman message boards as well, I've discovered.
There was actually a follow-up Star Wars Rocks image, featuring Phantom Menace characters break-dancing. I had a high-res image, but lost it when my computer crashed years ago, and I've never managed to find another.
