because it's really a blast..

Okay, so what's happened...

- We had a huge party for Sean's birthday this weekend. The picture of Dr. Doom I framed for Sean has me very much in the mood to frame things.
- We watched The Muppets Take Manhattan last night.
- Ben & Jerry's Neopolitan Dynamite is great.
- My car is being fixed today and tomorrow from Tara running into it with the moving truck.
- Didn't see Clerks 2 or Lady in the Water over the weekend. To be honest, I think I'd rather see Superman Returns again than either of them.
- I don't think I did anything productive with my weekend at all.
- Saw Oldboy at Danny and Megan's Thursday for the first time and it was definitely worth watching if you're interested in Asian cinema.
- Played Big Brain Academy and liked it enough to want to buy it now.

Is there anything you can't find on You Tube?

SNAFUPERMAN!

This is one of 26 Private SNAFU (Situation Normal, All Fouled Up) cartoons made by the US Army Signal Corps to educate and boost the morale the troops. Originally created by Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and Phil Eastman, most of the cartoons were produced by Warner Brothers Animation Studios - employing their animators, voice actors (primarily Mel Blanc) and Carl Stalling's music.

Because I want to see people and I want to see light.

Mario and Luigi debate Myspace and the Top 8.

give in and love it, what's the point in hating me?
you can't argue with popularity
well, you could, but you'd be wrong

Robbie Williams makes me laugh.

I hate how things can go from feeling so good to feeling so hopeless so quickly these days.
I suppose that's life for you though.

This modern life.

It took this guy 4 hours and 391 still photos to make this amazing clip.

I think I'm ready.

So I'm working on a playlist for my boss and listening to Sloan.
They're Canada's best band as far as I'm concerned... unless I'm just completely forgetting someone.

I found some more crazy cartoons from around the world to post, but I'll have to do it later if at all.

Sometimes I wish my memory wasn't so good.
Sometimes you hold on to things you wish you could let go of, you know?

More Robin Hood.

Apparently Robin Hood also lends his name to a flour in England.

No idea.

So this is a German dub of a Japanese cartoon about England's favorite folk-hero, Robin Hood.
Your guess is as good as mine.

And an even stranger version from 1960s American television.

Memories don't go away.

I'd be a jerk if I didn't tell you that if you have iTunes you should download all of the Penny Arcade podcasts. I mean, that is if you haven't done so already.
They're free AND hilarious.

I wrote this song a long time ago.

I had my doubts about what the quality level on this "new" season of Chappelle's Show was going to be like, but that is absolutely hilarious.

Better late than never.

Go watch the awesome and funny pilot for Mike Mignola's The Amazing Screw-On Head.
You get to watch the whole episode for free on Sci-Fi's website.

I'm looking at me.

So here's what I need:
- a desk/drafting table
- a PC
- a new television
- a chest of drawers/dresser
- help painting my room

I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Oh, are you getting it?

An awesome Nickelodeon nostalgia site.
You know, for those of you old enough to remember when Nickelodeon was awesome.

Nobody rules these streets at night but me.

From my Daily Show calendar...
"Thought the president is never actually required to salute anybody, President George W. Bush does it regularly because it's one of the things he doesn't know."

Did you kids know that GWB and Sly Stallone are the same age? I didn't either until today.

Watched The Road Warrior last night at Danny and Megan's. An awful lot of fun.

- Earthworm Jim
- Belle & Sebastian
- Bionic Six

- The Herculoids
- Thundarr the Barbarian
- Samurai Pizza Cats

That's just some I could think of at the moment.

I've been waiting my whole life for this.

Worth the 19 years it's taken since the last one.
Worth every second I've spent waiting for it since then.
Worth the 25 years I've been alive that I've had to wait to see this happen.

Just saying that it's my favorite movie ever is hardly doing it justice.

It is my most sincere wish that you will see it and understand what I've meant all this time. That you'll feel changed like some of the people I've spoken to after the three times I've seen it.
That you'll be open to what it's trying to give you.
Because what it's trying to give you is one of the most powerful things you could receive. Hope.

From an MSNBC article..
Lois won her Pulitzer with the sour-grapes editorial “Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman,” and our own mainstream media are now taking their cues from it. They’re asking: Is Superman still “relevant” (i.e., profitable) in a moviegoing world that loves the dark suits and darker attitudes of the X-Men? Superman’s all red undies and boy scout niceties. Will the kids still dig him?

Here’s an answer. His relevance can be seen in how many groups are still laying claim to him. Some say he’s Jewish (fleeing a planetary holocaust, hiding in plain sight). Some say he’s gay (a secret life, changing in closets, flamboyant outfit). Some say he’s Jesus (sent by his heavenly father to show humans the light).

Me? I say he’s my nephew. Last Christmas I bought him a Superman T-shirt and now it’s all he can talk about. “You not Superman,” he tells anyone who’ll listen. “I Superman!” He’s three.

Will the kids still dig him?

What a dumb question. Of course they will. He’s Superman.
