Also, since I'm sure all of you are dying to know, yes, I've finally seen X-Men II (I don't want to call it X2!), and I really enjoyed it. Quite a bit. (If you haven't seen it I might spoil some of it for you in this little rant so you've been warned.) I'm more excited to see it again than I was to see it the first time. My general feeling is that if a movie has a scene that makes me want to stand up and "Wahoo!" in the middle of a theater then it's a really good movie. This movie had several such scenes. Quite a few in fact. But that may be in part due to the fact that I'm a huge comic dork. I literally had to stop myself from doing so during Colossus' big scene. Pyro was great. Magneto was great. Nightcrawler was outstanding. Very pleased was I with how well they made that work. Alan Cumming delivered a performance that made me want to smack the people who wouldn't ever let him finish his introduction of himself. For heaven's sake just let that sweet man tell you what his name is and what he was known as in the Munich circus! Hugh Jackman made himself forever Wolverine in my eyes during the invasion of the mansion scene. I mean when he grabs that guy and says, "Boy did you pick the wrong house." I mean come on! But then when he pops the claws on that guy and then proceeds to start f***ing people up Wolvie-Berserk-style, that did it. He didn't even have to be in the rest of the flick. The costumes were cooler for this flick in my opinion. I think the greatest improvement in this flick though was the huge leap in quality in the SFX and the fight choreography. I didn't like everything about the flick though. Cyclops was barely in the flick.. which displeases me. I'm sure I'm forgetting things.. I may add more later. That's enough for now though. I like hearing from all of you, so make with the comments please.

I started to post something that was of a more personal matter.. well, not really too personal, but more of that nature than say, "Hey check out this whatever!" But since I'm pretty sure there are people that come here that really aren't interested in hearing me talk about that kind of thing I'm going to write something else.

So I was checking the cautions on the prescriptions the doctor prescribed and there were five or six problems that they listed that I've been experiencing. The thing is, for every one of them it said I should consult my physician immediately if I was having that specific problem. But I'm having several of those problems.. so am I still supposed to contact him? See stuff like this is why I don't go to the doctor.

I found a napkin that I had written some hilarity on, so I thought I'd share it with you. It's a few years old, but the story is one day (or night, I don't know) myself and (I believe) Corey were coming up with funny nicknames for wrestlers that didn't exist. We compiled those names into a list. This is that list: The Perfect Speller, Mr. Correct Change, Total Hygiene, Rinse Crazy, On-Time-All-The-Time, Q.T. Pye, The Express Package, and a tag team called Hardline and Butternuts.

One time there was this girl I was going out with for a really long time, and we used to joke about how we couldn't ever break up because it would be too much of a hassle to split all of our stuff up. But you know what? When we broke up we didn't split anything up or try to sort anything out, we just broke up. Isn't that funny?

I'm very excited about this movie. I don't know why, but I'm more excited about it than I am the X-Men Deuce flick. I mean, I want to see it and all, but I'm not really up in the air, have to see it excited. I'm sure I'll hear about how great it was come tomorrow.

As some of you may have noticed from Chris M.'s very heated comment, wrestling fans around the world are certainly mourning the passing of Miss Elizabeth. From what I've gathered no foul play was involved, and her death is not being investigated as a homicide, but Lex Luger's still a pretty huge jerk for beating her a week or so before her untimely death. Sad news.

I know the Angry One has already said as much, but Mr. Williams' new album (Escapology) is really, really good. It's all totally solid musically and it's sharp as hell and clever to boot verbally.

Now for what Corey would call a Chris Haley Weather Report: Still feel pretty worthless and lousy as far as the illness goes. Had to miss band practice tonight which totally hacked me off. I was really looking forward to practicing again, but apparently germs and viruses had other plans for my week. I'm supposed to work Friday night, and I'm really hoping I'm able to get well in a hurry so I don't have to call in again. I hate missing work. I mean, I don't hate not being at work, but I hate missing work because I'm sick, because I know they never believe me. They always think I'm faking. That's what I'm afraid of anyway.

That new picture on the front page is another collaboration with Steve-O. He's a good man, and he does good work. We figured we should do something to show that we were aware the new X-Men movie was coming out this week. I hope to see it this weekend, and I figure I might have a shot at doing so since surely a great number of people will be downtown at the Crapfest.. I'm sorry, "Music"-fest.

Who doesn't like free cartoons? My favorite was Go! Go! Moba Boy! And speaking of cartoons and things I like, Megaman has a new cartoon starting this month.

"Kill the Band" by OURS is so good I don't have anything else to say about it. I wouldn't recommend watching the video for "Leaves" though. That song is amazing and the video ... is not. IT's not particularly bad, but the song is just so good it deserves better than such a generic video.

I could care less about Half-Life (it's a computer game for those of you that don't know), but after seeing this I'm suddenly filled with an intense desire to play it... a lot. Thanks go to Party Sam for forcing me to get into this stupid game now.

In my opinion there are two types of Star Wars fan films: good ones and bad ones. This is one of the good ones.

Wow, this news makes me happy.

I don't really give a rip about Harry Potter (take it, leave it, whatever), but this news also seems good.

I've seen some people get beat up in my day, but I don't think I've ever seen a dude get wailed on like this before by a lady. And to make matters worse he keeps coming back to be beat mercilessly about the neck and face again and again. Special thanks to Shawn for bringing this to my attention.

I saw a "Guilt Free Fruit Cup 6-Pak" at the store today. If you're feeling guilty over a fruit cup you go to hell.

I like Tara because when I tell her she should write some more on her website, she does. That's service, yo. Also because she owes me a movie after losing a bet. She had the stones to dare and argue with me over a trivial matter involving Weezer and Kevin Smith. Foolish girl.

So I took a pretty good spill on my skateboard Friday night while we were hanging around after the movie.
And of course everyone saw, and that's fine, because when you skate you're gonna fall down from time to time.
Point is, of those people that saw, Josh was one of them. And he laughed. Which is fine because I wasn't hurt, so it's funny.
Everyone was free to laugh, but if anyone else did I didn't hear it because Josh's big, fake, I'm so pleased to see something bad happen to Chris Haley laugh was all I could hear.. well that and the sounds of me hitting the ground and different parts of me scraping the blacktop.
Anyway, then for the rest of the night he was saying stuff about how it had made his night, and how great it was, and how glad he was that he had been there to see it, etc.
So that was pretty cool of him.

You know, if I was a dude living in Eternia (good or bad), I imagine I'd probably be pretty scared if I saw a huge blonde guy glowing and yelling in a thunderous echoing voice, "I have the power!"

I like The Simpsons and Kevin Smith. If you're reading this, there's a pretty good chance you do as well. So as you can imagine, this little clip made me smile.

Possibly the greatest thing ever? Steve-O is pretty darn rad... and a genius... I was also told that he's a communist, but that may have only been a rumor.

Alex corrected my stupidity via e-mail and let me know the OK Go song I was talking about (two posts down.. please go read it if you have not yet.. I may have mentioned you!) is called "Unrequited Orchestra of Locomotion". She also sent me an mp3 of the tune, and I enjoyed listening to it several times.
Also found out the other guy I met who's name I did not know is named Burleigh.

Has anyone seen this new Scooby Doo cartoon? It's called "What's New Scooby Doo?". I haven't seen it yet, but I heard the theme song the other day and it kinda stuck with me, so I thought you kids might want to give it a listen as well.

Something Steve-O and I worked on together.. and by together I mean I did a stupid little sketch and he colored it into a really great picture.


Practice was cancelled last night (Thursday) due to a death in Danny's family, which sucks for a number of reasons. Obviously the loss for Danny is the number one reason, but another reason was the fact that Ed and I were so amped to be practicing again after seeing OK Go. Things are finally coming together. We'll be playing soon, so stay tuned.
Anyway, so instead of practicing I bought a $500 mic and some new sticks for Danny. Not what I expected to do on a Thursday night.

Could someone please explain to me how the hell I'm able to think I don't need to go to sleep before the sun comes up? I mean, I'm driving home around midnight or one or something, and I'm saying to myself, "Man, I am so tired! I can't wait til I get home to go to sleep. I don't even care if I make it to my bed, I'm just going to lay down right inside the front door."
Then I get home and stay up for another 7 hours.

I have another question. Does anyone know exactly what age it is that you start saying things like, "Hey, don't throw that away. I want to keep that." about things like milk jugs or the plastic bag from the newspaper?

I don't know if any of you are paying attention to that little counter over there to your left, but it's getting dangerously close to 10,000. I never thought that would happen. Even crazier is that it's about to hit 10,000 less than a month since it hit 9,000.

Saw OK Go, The Donnas, Whitelight Motorcade, and The Kicks last night (Wednesday). The Donnas were good for a novelty band (that is to say they played all of their songs well), The Kicks were adequate (which is better than a lot of bands I've seen), and Whitelight Motorcade was a pleasant surprise. Talked to Harley from WLM and he was nice enough for a guy that was ripping off Butch Walker.. but I'm pretty nice too, and I try to rip Butch off as much as possible, so that's ok with me.
OK Go was of course the highlight of the evening and my entire reason for being there. Met 3/5 of the band (Damian, Tim, and someone who's name I don't know) after the show.
Tim was tiny. I was shocked.
Damian was really nice. Also he was pretty.
I asked him if he wanted to sign my dollar, and he said, "Oh yeah, I'd love to." in a very sincere way followed by asking me, "Want to sign my e-mail list?"
I said "I'd love to."
(Note: I left my OK Go dollar in the car, or I'd show it to you. I'll try to remember to scan it tomorrow.)
Memories from OK Go's set:
1) Damian flipping out to an extreme I've never seen someone flip out during a show over his guitar coming unplugged during the first song. You could hear him screaming "WTF" at one of the tech guys over the rest of the band continuing to play the song. The guy was like 2 feet away from him at the time. It was pretty crazy. Even crazier was how light hearted and easy going he seemed for the rest of the show after the problem was taken care of. Even more so with the niceness after the show.
2) They played "Oliver's Army". It was rad. Real rad.
3) The backing vox were very, very impressive, but I didn't really expect any less.
4) The played a song I'm going to call "This is not the sound of a train" that was almost performance art in it's execution. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I also met some kids at the show who were all great. I don't recall all of their names, but those I did remember were Dustin, Randi, April, and Amy. If you are one of these kids and you see this, please get in touch with me.

Updated DVD listings. I told you I'd end up with more than I intended. I also bought another copy of Butch Walker's disc. Apparently, everytime we get a copy in I have to buy it. So far, I've given all of the copies I've bought (except my own) away to others in an attempt to further my reputation as some kind of crazed street evangelist for Mista Walka. Anyway, I guess if anyone is interested in having a copy of it they should talk to me.

I sincerely hope the lot of you all thought that thing about Corey and Crow from MST3K was as great as it was. Most importantly though, I hope Corey liked it as much as I did, because it sounds really cool, and like something he would say, therefore, he's a BMF.

It's "Spend Day" as I plan on buying Pete Yorn's new disc, the 4 disc FAMILY GUY Seasons 1&2 set, and The Transporter. I may end up with a mess of other crap as well, because once I start picking things up as I'm walking around the store, I seem to end up with more stuff than I intended. Stupid impulse buying.

OKgo tomorrow! I've checked and there are still tickets available, so I'd recommend that everyone that's physically and financially able to should make plans to get tickets and be there.

I had a sandwich today with bread that was so soft to the touch that I had to sit it down for fear of making it cry.

As some of you may or may not have known, Steve-O and I were working on some pictures together, and I thought you'd be seeing them soon. I was excited about this, because they were looking quite good.
However, it appears this may not be the case as he and Sam are working on some kind of super-secret thing-a-ma-bob with the BDA (British Dental Association). I'm betting it involves the Danimals.
These are all lies, because I know absolutely nothing about what it is. I'm sure it'll be grand though when finished as they're both clever chaps. I'm also sure that from here on out I will refer to "Sam" as "Party Sam"... unless I don't.

I was watching an episode of MST3K tonight in which Crow reminded me an awful lot of Corey. I'll elaborate with this quote from Crow when Gypsy tells him she doesn't get him, "What's not to get though, Gypsy? I just am. I hang out."

There has to be a catch here, right? Perhaps someone smarter than I can look into this and figure it out, because if there's no hidden, "bend you over" catch then this is too good to be true.

You know, I really don't mind if the movie studios want to release a less than packed with special features DVD say in May, and then a more special features than I have any desire to watch version in October. Seriously, I don't mind if they do this. What I do mind though, is when they have plans to do this all along, and don't make these plans known. It was fine when they did the 2 and 4 disc versions of Lord of the Rings because they said from day one that that was what they were going to do, but when it's just "rumored" that a "more super-deluxe, ultimate, special, superior, extreme edition" version will be coming out that makes me want to smash things.

I'm finding myself quite fond of this new page layout. I'm open to hearing your thoughts on the subject though.

I don't know if anyone else is paying attention, but this means something.. something important... yeah, it's important in a science and possibly science fiction kind of way.

Much appreciation for the people who called or e-mailed me making sure I was okay after that one post about my life and such.

I'm thinking of switching from Blogger to livejournal because they let you leave comments, and it might be nice to get comments. I've seen that you can have comments on blogger sites as well, because Katie has them, but I'm too stupid to figure out how to code it. Bah, I say.

The only thing that got me out of the house today (Saturday) was knowing that this was the last day for me to turn in this month's Previews.

Speaking of getting out of the house, this has nothing to do with that, but Alex called me this morning (Saturday) and it woke me up and that was a far better wake up than my alarm... but just as with my alarm, I wasn't sure what was going on for the first several minutes.

I may start calling girls "Honey-drawers". It's like calling them "Sweet-pants" or "Sugar-britches" only nicer. If you are a girl that I know do you think this would offend you?

The last thing I remember thinking before I fell asleep this morning was me repeating to myself, "Don't forget the Easter Monkey" over and over. It worked because I didn't forget.

I just saw the new trailer for The Matrix Reloaded, and while some of the special effects still don't look quite as good as I think they could, some of it looked decidedly rad. However, I will say that the last shot alone makes me so excited I have to start banging my head against things. Not really, but it does make me smile.

Steve-O has got to be one of the nicest people I know. And I know this will make him mad as hell, but when I went to his site today the banner ad was advertising for Red Wings stuff. Ha! It was like an anti-steve-o ad.

Speaking of movies, how about we go to the exact polar opposite of a good movie and talk about "House of 1,000 Corpses." Here's what I'd like you to do. I'd like you to think of a good movie, if you like you can think of a really good movie, it'll work either way. Have you got that movie in your head now? Ok, now think of the polar opposite of that movie and everything that makes it good. Think of a "black hole of terrible" with such raw suck powers that nothing resembling good can eminate or escape from it. Ok, now however bad of a movie your imagining, you're still not even close. You're not going to know how terrible it is unless you see it, but if you respect my opinion or your own time (because it's 2 hours of your life you're never getting back) in even the slightest, don't go see it. Or do and then come tell me how right I was. You'll wish you hadn't, or act like you don't just to spite me. Jerk.

Do you like girls? Do you like video games? Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say you do so look at this. Yes.. it's.. yes. Worth looking at if you are a girl also.

My jukebox was playing a mess of metal stuff I haven't listened to in forever all of a sudden all in a row, but now it's playing Fountains of Wayne. So that's quite nice.

For those of you that think I might not be aware, I assure you that I am aware of what an ass I am. It's not intentional. At least I don't think it is. I'm just very interested in trying to make everyone happy and be as many things to as many people as possible. I've also been in the practice of telling myself and others that "it's all in your head", and that had been going quite well for me up until tonight (today, whatever).
I could tell you about part of what's got me, but I don't know that I should.
And I could tell you about another part also, but it's not worth talking about.
Also, I have no idea if any of the people responsible for any of this will read this, so even talking about it at all on here may be a waste of time.
The thing that sucks is that the people that I know for sure will read this couldn't give a rip.

I wonder if any of the new people I've met in the last few weeks come here... wonder if any of their friends might then also..

Life would be so much easier if I was a mind reader or if shaking people would force them to make sense.

I've had so the opposite of a lot of sleep in the last 3 or 4 nights and it's 6:34am right now, and I honestly have no desire to try to go to bed. I pity the poor person who I end up catching awake first, because they're probably going to have to listen to me sound like a cross between coked out of my mind and someone with narcolepsy.

Oh, and if anyone is reading this who has been keeping tabs on my progress in life, I'm aware of what an "F-up" I am. But on the other hand, I'd say I have well above average grammar skills.
And I'm apparently quite good at.. wow, wait a minute, I almost said something that most certainly would have gotten me in trouble with a lot of people. Good for me for coming to my senses before I did.
So yeah, maybe some of these people will read this.

I really quite fancy Tara's website. I like hearing her thoughts, but I don't think I'm supposed to tell the address.
Going to Edward's is fine though. In fact, it's.. I can't think of how to spell the word I'm thinking of, but the point is you should go. Shut up.

I totally forgot to talk about Monday night. So Monday night, I make my way to Ed's place, and we proceed to walk around downtown looking for somewhere to eat. The usual places flit about in my head as possibilities, but then I see a sushi bar. I've never been to a sushi bar. As a matter of fact, I've never had sushi. So, still being on my "best night of my life" high from Friday, I figure why not, let's live a life less ordinary. Ed assures me he's down with the cuisine enough to guide me through this potential mine-field of raw fish. It's all pretty good to my tongue, but less than settling to my stomach. I chalk this up to me just not being used to it. Good experience though all the way. Then we go to the mall. Then we go to Walgreen's and I got a Cherry Coke. I haven't even seen a Cherry Coke anywhere in what seems like forever, so I was excited to be clutching one in my grubby little mitts once again. While we were walking back to the car some guy tried to sell us bike tires, to which Ed said, "I don't even own a bike." So then we go back to Ed's and watch the end of wrestling and work on a bunch of songs. It goes very well. Then we watched some stuff on the computer and watched some extras from the Jackass DVD.
A fine night. On the "good to very good" scale it was very good.

Speaking of things that are good, I've got these homemade chocolate chip cookies right now that are so good I'd rather not keep talking about them. Also, I fell asleep watching the Ben Franklin Biography on A&E last night. What I saw was good though, so that's got to count for something, right?

Every time I look at that new picture on the front page it makes me want to cry in a very good way..

A year or so ago, my college was having a homecoming, "vote for the pretty girl" kind of thing, and all these snotty girls had put posters up all over the walls saying "Vote for Me!" or "I'm better than her!" or "Pick me for Homecoming Queen!" and so forth.
So I thought to myself, "If they can put crap up on the walls why can't I?"
So Danny and I made up a bunch of flyers that had a cartoon of me on it with the phrase "Vote for Chris Haley for Greatest Guy Ever!"
We thought it was pretty hilarious. Some people at school thought it was amusing as well, however some did not, because everytime we'd put some up, someone would take them down. I imagine it was either school officials or girls jealous that I was prettier than they were.

More good news for Nintendo Gamecube owners.

Chris Jericho got into a fight with Goldberg backstage at RAW Monday night, and from the sound of it, he came out on top... and that's pretty darn cool.

Scott Kurtz continues to tell it like it is.

Steve (or Steve-O as I call him) is a pretty rad dude, and unfortunately, he's just had an experience that was decidedly un-rad. No one like to be "burgled" (though I'm sure everyone loves to say it), so head to Steve-O's site and send him some positive energy. It's called "karma", kids, and it's a boomerang, so doing something nice will come back to you in a positive, crescent fresh way.

I don't know how many of you like Travis, but as many of you may know, they're one of my favorite bands. The point of me saying this is they have an acoustic version of a new song available for download on their website called "The Beautiful Occupation." As with most of their stuff, I like it, and maybe you will too.

In case you haven't heard, Thomas Jane has been chosen to play The Punisher in the 2004 release. You can catch your first glimpse of the new Frank Castle this June before HULK, in the form of a special made trailer shot for the sole purpose of playing before said film. In other Marvel movie news, word is that Vin Diesel is interested in playing the Silver Surfer. I guess I've heard stranger things... like the rumor about him wanting to play The Flash.

I wish I could even begin to tell you all how amazing the Butch Walker experience I had Friday night was. More to come.

They screw us over on CD prices for years and years (though that's slowly getting better), they chew up and spit out talented musicians while constantly trying to force feed us crap, they try to screw us out of getting music for free (which we keep finding ways around, go us!), and now this.

Apparently a guy named Karl Wang draws a webcomic that features two different versions of me! There's the more current version of me on the left, and the younger, backwards hat wearing, goatee having version of me from a few years ago on the right. See for yourself...

Am I right? See he even acts like me! And look at him dressing like me.. though for completely different reasons. Look, he's even got sleeping problems like I do! And he's seems to be similar to me in other ways! I don't know if I should be excited or very, very frightened...

I knew as soon as I put the new front page picture up, that some people would like it, and some would dislike it. Actually, I don't think "like" and "dislike" are strong enough words to describe the scale of the polarity of feelings on that particular picture. And it's up to you whether or not you believe me about this part, but I also knew exactly who would and who would not like it. If you haven't voiced your opinion on it to me yet, please feel free to e-me about it. Or don't. Totally your call.

I drew He-Man...

As most of you know, I'm a pretty big wrestling fan, and on that level the only thing I like a much as wrestling is a good wrestling game. So far there aren't any good ones out on the next generation systems (though Def Jam Vendetta may change that), but the first pics and info on the next Gamecube WWE game, Wrestlemania XIX, have just been let loose. It looks pretty sharp, but that says very little about the quality of gameplay. Oh well, even if it sucks I'll always have No Mercy.

Peter Jackson (director of The Lord of the Rings) will be directing a remake of King Kong! This sounds pretty exciting if you ask me.

I saw that new John Travolta/Samuel L. Jackson flick, Basic, tonight. It didn't suck as I thought it was going to... which was nice. It also has a pretty decent poster.. Sam Jackson has a cape for some reason, and that's fine with me. If you've got two hours to kill there are definitely way lousier movies you could see. I can tell you that much for certain.

I've decided my favorite Marvelous 3 song is "Grant Park". If you have the capabilities to do so, you should download it or try to find their album ReadySexGo! and give it a listen. Then you should let me know what you think of it.

Every so often I say something similar to what I'm about to say, and I imagine I'll continue doing so every so often. Anyway, what I was going to say was this, I feel like there have been some pretty decent updates as of late and I hope all of you are catching them all, and if there's a chance you haven't then please feel free to scroll down and check them out. Then, if you're feeling brave, maybe even wander down to the bottom of the page where the rubot's legs are and check out the "Archives". For one reason or another, I've never mentioned this site before, but Comic Book Resources is a really good site to go to if you like comic books. It's pretty much what the name implies.

I just finished watching CKY 4. My review of it is unless you're just balls out for the CKY crew and everything they do, this is the only disc you need (as opposed to getting the box set with the other 3 CKY DVDs in it). But then again you probably won't even be interested in this disc unless you're sorta balls out for CKY already. So what I'm saying is this, if you're only kinda interested in checking out the whole CKY thing, get this disc as it serves as a CKY "greatest hits" DVD as well as showing their new stuff. This was a lousy review.. I apologize I'm on sleep inducing medication.

Diesel Sweeties has managed to sum the situation up very nicely. As Edward and I discussed tonight, and you're free to agree or disagree with me as you please (as well as share whatever your feelings are with me), I don't particularly agree with why we've entered into this war, but now that we're in it, I think we as Americans should support our nation's decisions as a sign of solidarity. When it's over and done with we can talk about it's merits, or lack thereof depending on how you see it, to all of our little hearts' content. And of course, there's always the option that if you don't like being an American based on the choices our government is making, unlike some other places, you're free to leave and go become a member of some other nation... I hear Mexico is hiring.

DS also has some shirts available on the subject that some of you very well could enjoy.

I've never been to San Fransico, but their "Hometown Newspaper", The Examiner, has a really well written recap of the year in music 2002. They of course forgot to mention, Silverchair and Butch Walker, but no one's perfect.

As you no doubt know, I'm a really big fan of Penny Arcade, reason being, it's funnier than I have the mental capacity or verbal skills to fully communicate to all of you. And as funny as their comics are (Which make no mistake, they are funny. Funny. Fun-nay.) sometimes they are really at their best when they're getting to rip into stupidity, whether it be in inanimate, human, or idealogical form. A perfect example of this can be seen here as Gabe goes to town on those who have the nerve to call the look of the new Legend of Zelda game for Gamecube "kiddie". I've been listening to BBC World News to get my information on what's been going on with the war, and I've come to one conclusion: Every "news person" on BBC World News is an a-hole. They have guests on there that seem intelligent and even tempered, but all of the actual "anchors" seem to be dicks.

I got the new Game Boy Advance SP and some games today, and I've got to say I'm quite pleased with the purchase. It's everything I hoped it would be.. and that's pretty good. This next week is going to be quite a big purchasing week as well with the release of Futurama Season 1, Jackass The Movie, CKY 4, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Mystery Science Theater 3000 Box Set Vol. 2, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for Gamecube!

I also managed to do some cut-type damage to my hands tonight that's not so good. I cut up underneath one of my fingernails with a cardboard box somehow, and then managed to slice my index finger on the other hand pretty nicely with a really, really old (but still all together huge) kitchen knife. I fear I may need a tetanus shot, but I don't know much about that kind of thing so I don't know for sure.

The line-up for this year's Memphis in May Beale Street Music Fest has been announced, and you know it's going to be another great year for seeing music in Pimphis when the only name that even managed to register on my richter scale of interest was The Gap Band. While I'd like to see them and let them "drop" a proverbial "bomb" on me, I think it's safe to assume I'll be avoiding Riverside like the plague that weekend.

MC Frontalot has released a new song about the war called "Special Delivery", and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't better than the one the Beastie Boys came out with on their site. He's the MC that fronts the most, and you should check it out.

I can't wait to see this! The people at Mainframe Entertainment (Reboot) do fine, fine work.

In other happy news, it looks like it's two minutes to midnight on the whole World War 3 thing. I can't say that I'm all that excited about this though.. I mean I'm all for killing people that want to kill me, but the idea of killing them, and then their "super-end-of-the-world bombs" making me and those I care for ultra-dead leaves me feeling less than excited.

Do you ever see something that you think is a good idea and realize that you could have thought of it first? So why didn't you?

One of my favorite bands, and hopefully one of yours, Fountains of Wayne have a new CD called "Welcome Interstate Managers" coming out June 3. I suggest you all mark that date on your calendars and circle it.. maybe even put a star.

As you all no doubt know, I'm pretty brand loyal to Nintendo, and as such, when I hear about favorable news I'm inclined to feel good about it... and if something makes me feel good that means you will probably be forced to hear about it.

This is too horrific for words... Edward, you should especially check this out.

For the two of you that don't know, I got a new tattoo on Wednesday. In Edward's words it's "the tattoo I should have always had." It's of Superman, and my doppelgangster (that's Edward) got one of Ghost Rider. His has got to be the freakin' scariest tattoo I've ever seen. It's balls out bad "A", while mine is the raddest, baddest, roughest, toughest picture of Superman I've ever seen, and by far the best tattoo I've ever had. There will be pictures of the festivities up shortly, which I hope you will all enjoy. Also, on a related note, I'd like to especially thank Tara for saving the day and providing me with the necessary funds to pay for my tattoo when I discovered I had left my money at home like an idiot. She's super-cool so be nice to her the next time you see her!

Apparently, Joaquin Phoenix is going to be playing Johnny Cash in a movie based on his early years. For the time being the film is titled "Walk the Line."

That picture of Superman on the front page was drawn by me, and I think it's probably the best picture of Superman I've ever drawn. Not saying that it's necessarily good or anything, but I definitely think it's the best I've done. Just thought I'd share that with you. I'll welcome any and all comments on the picture.. or on anything else I guess.

So get this, I forgot to mention it earlier, but I'd like to thank you all for February of 2003. I say thank you, because though it was the shortest month of the year, it managed to shatter (and I do mean shatter, there was literally a mess to clean up... ok, not literally) the previous record for number of page hits in a month. It seems as though we're gaining more and more Friends of Hip Today and those friends seem to be telling other friends, who seem to be telling other friends, and so on and such and such. Anyway, the point is I really appreciate it, and I hope the trend of spreading the word about can continue, and I also hope that all of you know that you're always welcome to get in touch with me via any means necessary to let me know about something you think should be on here or that you'd like to see on here or that you want to alert the rest of the Hip Today audience to. That's poor grammar because I ended the sentence with a prepostion, but it's okay for me to do it since I know, and have acknowledged that fact.

Get this, Pat just sent me this link, and what do you know, they're making a Cowboy Bebop movie. It hits theaters April 4, but as per usual with movies that are only in select cities, it won't be playing anywhere near me. Check out the site though and watch the trailer and see if it's maybe playing somewhere near you... then go see it and let me know how it was.

Sad, sad times, kids. Everyone's favorite neighbor, Mr. Rogers, has passed away after a battle with stomach cancer at the age of 74. I'm sure we'll all miss him greatly.

In "Oh, thank heavens!" news, Josh Hartnett will not be playing Superman! However, it's a bittersweet victory, because the announcement also says, "Warner (Bros.) has said they are not looking for someone that looks like Superman or even can act well; they're looking for someone to sign a three-picture deal." That's certainly a fine way to make a quality motion picture.

If there's a game I'm looking forward to, it's the new Megaman game that's coming out for the Gamecube. If there's a game I enjoy on a nostalgia level but am also disappointed with, it's Dragon's Lair 3D. The game succeeds in recapturing the look, sound, feel, and indeed, even the spirit of the original arcade classic. However, and I'd say most importantly, the thing it manages to recapture the best from the original is the impossibility... because it's impossible.

THQ is giving us all a chance to let our voices be heard and make the next WWE (or WWF if you prefer to still call it that) game for the Gamecube not blow. I'm going to have to request that you all go check it out and answer the questions wisely.

I just finished watching a movie called "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies." Yup.

Apparently one of my favorite bands, Ash have a new quasi-documentary type thing debuting on UK TV. So we'll probably never see it, but it sounds crazy, so I'd like to very much.

I'm not even going to lie and say I don't want this.

AOL has been reporting on that fire at a Great White show in Rhode Island where the number of people killed keeps rising, and they just keep reprinting the same story with a new headline about how high the death count is now, and then they change all the numbers within the story itself to the new higher number. It just seemed weird to me. Even weirder though, was how they now have bootleg video footage from someone who was filming the show from the crowd with a camcorder. It's pretty surreal to watch when you sit there and realize what's about to happen, and then it starts happening. It seems a little callous of AOL I think, but I dunno.

Cartoon Network and Lucasfilm announce 20 Star Wars animated short films. Sounds pretty wicked to me.

Sam (who once proclaimed himself to be the King of All Media) was kind enough to send me the link to the new trailer for the second X-Men flick, or X2 as it's being called. Ii've seen the trailer 3 times on the big screen with my three viewing of Daredevil, but for those of you who haven't seen it, here it is. I'll be honest and tell you that while I do think it looks pretty cool and I'm excited to see the flick, I don't think it's as balls out wicked as almost everyone else seems to think it is. I mean don't get me wrong it looks pretty cool, but it didn't make me want to say things like, "I'd see Daredevil again just to get to see that X2 trailer again."

How'd you like to have a look at my DVD collection? Well, now you can. It's as up to date as I can make it.

Sweet Jesus it was gloomy today. The sky was so freaking gray as I was walking to class today that it made me want to go to an art store and find a gray marker that was the same depressing shade as the sky so that I could color a picture of me looking at how gloomy the sky was. Anyway, after class I went to Target for a few minutes and promptly proceeded to lose my everloving mind from lack of sleep. It was ridiculous. I decided to leave then and I managed to make it home without any further incident. Fun, yeah?

I think I mentioned this a loooong time ago back when it was just a rumor, but it's come to pass, and Todd McFarlane is making a line of Wizrd of Oz figures called "The Twisted Land of Oz". There's a disclaimer on this page (where you can check them out) that says the line is not intended for anyone under the age of 17. They aren't kidding either. "Twisted" is indeed the best word to describe it.

I've made an update of noteworthy proportions to the Friends of Hip Today section of the site.
