Letters to God.

If you ask me, kids are a lot funnier than most adults.
If only they could do it on purpose.

DETHKLOK!

An update on all things Dethklok from Mr. Explosion :

... I will answer 3 questions.

1. The DETHALBUM.
We went in the studio on Tuesday to begin laying it down. What to expect: Your favorite songs from the show in FULL LENGTH- No more 1 minute songs with a fade out but FULL LENGTH SONGS in all of their brutality- (with new sections you've never heard). There may be some new surprises on the CD (more to come on that). Also a couple key words in putting the CD together: Gene Hoglan (if you don't know him then do some research and begin buying his entire library). Release date: Summer 07. Yes you will have to wait. But it will be more than worth it. I will leak more info as I have it including track listing etc. . . So start looking fwd to the summer.

2. The DVD. also summer. Yes It's going to kick ass.

3. Is there going to be a second season. I can't tell you. But watch the end of tonight's episode and pay close attention to the last words uttered.

also people ask often about merch. we have it. Go online and find it. It's out there. and there will be much much more of that to come.

On a final note as the season ends I wanted to say you people kick ass, me and toki, skwisgaar, pickles, and murderface appreciate the hell out of you supporting us. THANK YOU. We're gonna see each other soon. Keep supporting all the metal bands out there and help us to make everything metal.

You may now go die,

But don't die too soon,

Nathan Explosion

Matt Damon is funny.

If you've heard a better McConaughey impression, I'd love to hear it also.

I have great ideas.

I'm full of great ideas by accident sometimes.
Maggie was telling me about this new commercial for Outback Steakhouse that has an Of Montreal song in it. This conversation walked me down the path to hilarity where I discovered a great album title, "Let's Drink Until We Can't Remember Our Faces".
Now that's an album title you can hang your hat on and leave it for a while.

Available now on ebay!
I don't mind telling you that I wish I owned these.

I like coloring.

If you've been around here any decent amount of time, I think you've know doubt taken notice of the fact that I like coloring things.
I don't think I'm particularly adept at it, but it's fun, so I keep at it.
Here's some things I've colored lately.

A picture of Robin by Joe Madureira that I colored and turned into an icon for live-jay.

A picture of Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) by Patrick Gleason I colored today at work.
Fun.

The mission is clear.

These things jump out at you.

Carved crayons.
Amazing.

Let's go away for a while.

So here's where I tell you about what I've seen or read or heard lately that's been worth talking about...

Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny
I was upset with myself for not seeing this flick sooner, but now that I've seen it I'm even more upset. Pretty much non-stop goodness. I don't feel like I really need to say that much about it. It was of course very funny. Great performances. Great cameos. Songs I can't get out of my head. Some of the best rock 'n rolling I've seen or heard in some time.

Oh, and of course THE DEVIL!

Superman : Secret Identity
Kurt Busiek and Stuart Immonen deliver one of the best Superman stories of all time. Secret Identity tells the story of a teenager in the real world who happens to be named Clark Kent. As you can imagine he gets teased and bullied a lot at school, and year after year receives Superman toys, t-shirts, comics, you name it for his birthday. As you can also imagine, he hates the presents and he hates being named Clark Kent.
Then one night, everything changes.
The story is fun and funny and exciting and moving, all while still feeling very real.
Then there's the art.

Stuart Immonen's work here is absolutely incredible. Breathtaking at times. I'd be hard pressed to imagine him ever doing something that would replace this as his legacy to future generations. And that's something he should be pretty proud of, even though I'm sure he wouldn't like to hear that.

Thinking about life.

I think one of the scariest things about life is not that no one can tell us what's going to happen, it's that no one can tell us anything.
Everyday we wake up and even if we go through our regular routine and it all runs like clockwork we're still stuck in the middle of a mystery we may never solve.
All of us.
I was thinking about the trailer for that movie "The Invisible", and as often the case in those kinds of movies, eventually the protagonist meets someone who can explain what's going on to him. In this case, the old man explains to the kid that if he can solve the mystery of his own death he gets a chance to live again.
Sometimes the "hero" doesn't have the aid of an old man to spell it out, instead he stumbles across all the right clues or finds a book or some other convenient plot device that helps the movie have something resembling forward momentum.

We never get that.
Do we?

Maybe we do at some point and no one's told me.
