The world is pretty ridiculous these days in general.
Fountains of Wayne are involved in a bit of this ridiculosity.
For those of you who care, the song in question is one of my favorite FoW songs ever.

Also for those of you who are interested, MAUXFAUX (the band I'm in) has finished recording our first EP and are in the process of mixing it to a state of finished, face-melting rock excellence.
We should be done by the end of next week at the latest.
Exciting, yeh?
For those of you who have heard rough mixes of the tracks, I apologize, because they don't begin to do the finished versions justice.
Go ahead and remove your socks, because they're about to get rocked.
Look for "The Collapse EP" in the record collections of people with good taste very soon.

I think I may start reviewing things on here again.
Just an idea.
How was your St. Patrick's Day?

Listen to the new Ima Robot single, Alive.
It's pretty good.

Or go here and listen to the entire new disc "Winning Days" from The Vines.

"Sex on the Beach? I'll have that too.. except the real one." - Coach McGuirk
I'm begging you to go watch this.
Seriously.

I can't believe I hadn't seen this before, but apparently, Aqua Teen Hunger Force have plans that involve Van Halen.
That's right.
Just watch.
They also have plans to blow up the sun.
The bullet is amazing in it's capacity to instill fear into your puny Earth minds.

News already on the DVD of the new remake of Dawn of the Dead.

Did you know in 1979 there was a movie called "Weasels Rip My Flesh"?
Well, there was.. and now it's out on DVD.
I bet if 10 copies of it are sold Hollywood will start planning the remake.

I'm not even going to bother trying to explain it to you, just go check it out: Flying Shark vs Flying Crocodile.
Thank you, Adult Swim.

Volume 5 of MST3K DVD collections was released Tuesday for those of you who aren't so good at keeping up with such things.
Go out and buy yourself a copy.
Then, why not enjoy a short interview with MST3K's own Mike Nelson.

Why don't you just do yourself a favor and let Brendon Small teach you the alphabet?

Then let Coach McGuirk teach you a thing or two about Scottish Highland dancing.

It's very educational here today.

95.5 KLOS in southern California is teasing "HUGE" Van Halen news.

The new trailer for The Day After Tomorrow.

Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) has a new side-project called, I kid you not, Eagles of Death Metal.

For those of you that live in the area I do, Angie Aparo will be playing at 12 & Porter in Nashville on June 3.
Make a note of this date... for my sake.

I don't know if anyone else has heard about this, but there's a rumor making the rounds that Hugh Jackman may be the next James Bond.

This is a little high-tech monster guy that I drew last night.

Gary Oldman has just joined the cast of the new Batman flick starring Christian Bale and directed by Christopher Nolan.
Also, the title has been changed to Batman Begins.
Gets better by the day.
Filming started Tuesday.

Feel free to watch the new trailer for Hellboy.

Sean Astin (you know.. "Sam" in The Lord of the Rings) is apparently very interested in directing the big screen adaptation of The Fantastic Four. He's also claimed that if he gets the job, Orlando Bloom will play Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch).

Seinfeld fans can take comfort in the knowldege that all the differences between the show's stars have been settled and that all four will be taking part in the creation of bonus features for the upcoming DVDs.

The Living End released a new disc yesterday.
You can give most of the album a listen for free by clicking here.
It's pretty decent. I like "Who's Gonna Save Us?" especially.

Get a load of the Gameboy Time Machine.

Bobby's World joins the ever-expanding list of old, but not that old, cartoons that are making their way to DVD.

TeenGirlSquad 5.
Now you too can watch it. Wow!

I'm listening to Ann Beretta a band for which a band I was in opened. So yeah... oh crap.. I think I left something in the oven.

Like Magic the Gathering?
Yeah, I don't either.
But do you like Monty Python?
I thought you might.
This is pretty funny.

How'd you like a free copy of Futurama: Volume 3?
Here's your chance.

It's a webcomic.
It's not always terribly funny, but it does have it's moments.
I like it more for the look of it.. oh, and of course the wonderful colors.
It has colors.

black knight
You are the Black Knight. You are exceedingly brave
and have great strength, but your foolishness
leads to the loss of both your arms and your
legs in battle.

One of the best Strong Bad e-mails in quite a while.

MARIO
You are Mario. You're pretty good-all-around.
You're the hero most of the time, and you don't
get too hung up in it...just try and let others
get a little spot-light too, okay?

I'm going to stab you now. Because I love you.

Robert Rodriguez is apparently directing a feature film version of SIN CITY.
If all of this is true, I couldn't be any more excited.

"Someone will say to us, 'Who in God's name do you think you are?' and we'll say, 'We're The Darkness. Get used to it.'" - Justin Hawkins
All manner of media to watch and/or listen to from The Darkness.
I recommend the interview with Justin and Ed especially.

"We're going to make the best balls-out record we've ever made, and we're going to make it in a studio. We're not used to studios, only basements." - Dave Grohl to Billboard.com on the next Foo Fighter's album which he plans on releasing before the end of the year

The new trailer for The Punisher has done a fine job of alleviating some of the fears instilled in me by the last trailer.

I can't recall if I've mentioned this before, but Jude Law and David Bowie have become friends, and chances are Law will be playing Bowie in the movie based on his life that's currently in pre-production.

The Alarm (a rock band) have tricked the system... good for them I say.

You can go play Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates and join the social online world of puzzling piracy.

"Every time I walk by the funeral parlor down the street, I'm almost overcome by the smell of maple syrup. Is there something about corpses I don't know?" - Tycho, Penny Arcade

My favorite Scottish writer, Mark Millar, has some news (according to him, which means rumors to the rest of the world) on the status of the next Superman flick.

These are without a doubt some of the worst album covers EVER.

Thursday, February 19, 2004

Kevin Smith will be writing and directing a feature film adaptation of The Green Hornet.

Billy Corgan blames James Iha for the dissolution of the Smashing Pumpkins.

Rhino has created a new e-card for the DVD release of Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume 5.
Go watch it... if you want.
