The very idea of something called Marvel Mighty Beans is hilarious to me.

UGO's Top 11 Video Game Cartoons.

Twentieth Century Fox has begun the very early stages of working on a Simpsons movie. It is expected that most of the best writers from the show's fifteen seasons will be helping to create a script worthy of Springfield's most famous family.

Get a load of what The Joker may look like in that new Batman cartoon I spoke of a few days ago: click.
Also, it appears this new cartoon will have the most technologically advanced android toys ever created.

While we're on the subject of Batman, Liam Neeson has just been added to the cast of Batman : Intimidation (starring Christian Bale and directed by Christopher Nolan). Neeson will be playing the film's villian Ra's al Ghul... which for the uninitiated into the world of comic geekdom translates to "The Demon's Head".

For those of you who haven't heard yet, BUTCH WALKER has been signed to Epic Records and given his own (yet-to-be-named) imprint through which he will be releasing a live disc, a DVD, and then his long awaited sophmore solo album.
We should have all of these things in our grubby little mitts before the end of 2004.

Josh Homme has kicked Nick Oliveri out of Queens of the Stone Age because of his excessive partying.
That doesn't sound like a particularly rock and roll reason to kick someone out of a band.
Van Connor of Screaming Trees has been announced via the official QOTSA site as Oliveri's replacement.

Though I'm sure none of you care, but since I do, Judas Priest will indeed be one of the headlining act on this year's Ozzfest.

Rumors continue to persist that Van Halen is planning a summer tour. Time will tell I suppose.

AC/DC are working on material for a new album.

News for the Iron Maiden fans.

All kinds of Motorhead news.

Did anyone else know there's a Mini- KISS?
Does anyone else find these pictures from one of their shows unsettling?
While I'm on the subject of strange things, did anyone else read the article on these kids in Rolling Stone a few months ago?
I wonder what Axl thinks of all of this.

I too have thought of owning a pet alligator... hopefully, with results of equal or greater hilarity.

George Lucas has finally caved in and WILL release the original Star Wars Trilogy (or at least the Special Edition version of said trilogy) on DVD this September.
For more information feel free to click away.

The Fairly Oddparents are at Burger King all this month and for most of March.

Both Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia on Buffy and Angel) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy... on some show that's title escapes me at the moment) are leading contenders for the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming flick.
I think Charisma's a much better match, but since when has Hollywood listened to me?

The Abridged Cat in the Hat script.

Check out these promotional pics from the new Batman cartoon coming to the WB and Cartoon Network later this year.

Here's an article giving more of the details on the show itself.
I like the design work I've seen so far, and it sounds like a pretty interesting take on the character.. so as you may have already assumed, I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

X2 director Bryan Singer and screenwriters Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty have just been announced as the new writing team for Marvel Comics' Ultimate X-Men. No word on when their run will begin or who will be handling the art chores. Regardless, this sounds good to me.

Kiera Knightly (Pirates of the Caribbean) is in talks to play the starring role in a movie adaptation of I Dream of Jeannie.

October 5 will see Disney releasing a 2-disc special edition of Aladdin. Just thought some of you might like to know.

I just liked this thing, so here it is..

I just caught the tail-end of a commercial for some kind of pill that, if I heard correctly, gives men a 36 hour erection.
I believe the name of the pill was, "The Funniest Thing to Slip Into a Friend's Drink EVER!"

For the Samurai Jack fans, a surprise announcement was made today.

Here's a picture of "late teens/early twenties Jesus" I drew while I was sketching ideas for my Jesus vs Aquaman comic.. some of you may remember me talking about it...

Fountains of Wayne will be on Letterman Thursday night.

An update on the injured Ryan Adams.

Being a member of the Fiend Club, I found this story to be very distressing. One should keep in mind however, that there has been no news about this from any other source, so take this news with a grain of salt.

This Sunday at the Super Bowl pre-show, there is a good chance Sammy Hagar is going to announce that he and Van Halen have reunited and will tour this summer.
Rumor has it that the band has been locked away in a studio in California working on new tracks for either Best Of.. Vol. 2 or for a new record.

Speaking of reunited bands, there is a 90% chance that JUDAS PRIEST will be on this year's Ozzfest bill.
Which unfortunately means, I may have to go to Ozzfest.

March 23 will finally see the release of the first Weezer DVD and the expanded reissue of "The Blue Album."
For more info check here and here.

There will be new Aqua Teen Hunger Force DVDs this summer!
There will also be other Adult Swim DVDs released at the same time, including Sealab 2021.
For those of you that are interested in knowing more about me, Sealab 2021 features one of my favorite theme songs ever.
Speaking of Adult Swim characters we all know and love, check out this Space Ghost news.

Check out the trailer for Zatoichi.
It's not that bad if you ignore the voice-over guy.
This character is one of Japan's great franchises (there's been a Zatoichi film in movie theaters or a series on television pretty much without any kind of gaps from 1962), and it stars "Beat" Takeshi Kitano.. what else do you need?

This really cracked me up.
I'm not trying to make fun though, I like people who can get excited about things.

Things continue to get worse on the Superman movie front.

In some positive movie news, Naomi Watts has finally signed to star in Peter Jackson's new King Kong epic.
I'm already prepared to say that I think this movie will be a masterpiece on par with the original.
It starts shooting in August and will be in theaters around Christmas 2005.

Also, the new Christopher Nolan/Christian Bale Batman flick has a title, BATMAN : INTIMIDATION.

Mario
You are Mario! You're pretty good-all-around.
You're the hero most of the time, and you don't
get too hung up in it...just try and let others
get a little spot-light too, okay?

For those of you who haven't heard yet, Lord of the Rings : Return of the King received 11 Oscar nominations.
You can check out CNN.com's analysis of the nominees and front-runners here if you're so inclined.
I'm not looking forward to the riots that will surely follow if Return of the King doesn't win at least Best Picture.

Today sees the release of G.I. Joe Season 1 on DVD.
A flash animation dealie has been created to mark the occasion.

Also, feel free to check out the box art for MST3K DVD Collection Volume 5.

For those of you who are fans of Nuno Bettencourt (and I'm well aware I may be the only one here), his new band Population 1 has just opened their new site.
There's not much there yet, but here's to hoping for more.
And while I'm on the subject of Nuno....

In sad news, Captain Kangaroo recently passed away at the age of 76 after a long period of illness.

I apologize for my abscence while my band was busy recording our first EP.
I'll probably be elaborating on the events that occurred and the experience itself a little later.

For those of you that haven't heard yet, here's a good bit of information on the new Nintendo DS... (Dual Screen).
Also, Justin at GameGirlAdvance has a pretty good take on the whole thing.

This is the exact opposite of good news.
Surely, some kind of petition needs to be started in a speedy-type manner.

Wednesday, January 21, 2004

Satellite News has some more info on the upcoming MST3K release. Wahoo!

The WB is working on a remake of cult favorite television program, Dark Shadows.

The next Harry Potter flick may be the most expensive movie ever made.

It occurred to me that some of you might not be acquainted with some of my older stuff, so here's an older picture..

Hope you like it.

MST3K fans can look forward to more DVD releases starting in March.
No word on whether or not it will be individual episodes, or more box sets though.
The same company will also be releasing a 4-disc Jem Seasons 1 & 2 box set in May.
And while I'm on the subject of animated shows from my childhood on DVD, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon from '87 will be hitting a store near you in April.
Wahoo!

I'm sure you've all seen it by now, but do check out the trailer for Van Helsing.
Does anyone else think it's an odd coincidence that he looks an awful lot like Eddie Van Halen?
Tycho and Gabe were talking about Van Helsing also, and it made me wish I still got to take part in debates of such a high magnitude on the geekery meter.
