I dunno, I think this sounds pretty cool. Anytime you put the words monsters and McFarlane together it's usually good.

And I can assure you that this will be one of the first games I buy for the new Game Boy.

Quote of the night: "Your balls are smoking." - Adam
(I sincerely wish all of you could have been there when he said this to experience just how funny it was.)

I swear, surely at least a few of you need one of these. No, I'm serious, I'm sure that you do.

Speaking of the new Game Boy (which I wasn't), I guess this is pretty funny.. what with it being true and all.

Dave Chappelle's new show on Comedy Central debuts this Wednesday night. I may have said that it started on the 27th in an earlier post, and if I did, pretend I didn't, because it starts Wednesday which is the 22nd. So yeah, the point is watch his show.

In case you haven't seen this yet, you should go look at it.

I've made a new photo album for you all to check out entitled "So we went to Chili's instead..." I hope you enjoy it.

"I think that the news about Soul Calibur 2 having different characters for different machines is really interesting. I know for me the choice is obvious. I mean if you have all three systems you will need to pick one version. First of all you are going to want it to look good, so that rules out the PS2. Second, Spawn is retarded so that rules out the Xbox. Third, Link rocks so that means you need the GameCube version." - Gabe from Penny Arcade

The Save Shenmue Petition.

How do you not love this guy?

Go to his website and love it as I do.

It pisses me off to no end that I'm paying for the same DVD twice, but rest assured, I will be buying this.

I'm sure some of you already knew this, but Junior Mints are the candy equivalent of crack to me. I can't get enough of them. If any body wants to get me some, please feel free to do so... because I love them.

Everyone who has bought a CD since 1995 needs to check this out.

Everyone also needs to download the song "High School" by Nerf Herder.

You know kids, I guess you can tell you're getting older when you find yourself saying things like, "I'm getting too old for this."

"I don't want to, be the one who, does everything like I'm told to.."

I really don't think enough of you are into Butch Walker yet... and to be completely honest, I don't think I can settle for that. Read this and see if it doesn't get you interested.

You know, whoever is cutting these Daredevil trailers has some kind of uncanny ability to take a lot of cool footage and throw in 2 seconds of retarded every so often in such a way that it makes this movie look pretty goofy. Don't get me wrong, I think it's actually going to be a pretty good flick, but the guy responsible for these trailers needs to be stopped.

This is the best DVD news of 2003 so far in my opinion.

I'm pretty excited about this DVD news though also. And of course I guess I can't forget to mention this DVD either.

And coming March 25, 2003...

I'm sure most of you have seen this trailer by now, but in case you haven't, that's what I'm here for: Pirates of the Caribbean.

I played an a-yass-load of laser/lazer tag last night with Ed, some other people from work, and a bunch of people I've never met. It was a pretty good bit of fun, but I managed to re-injure my leg that got F'ed up during the New Year's Eve shenanigans, so that was less than fun. It occurred to me a few minutes ago that playing lazer tag is a lot like playing Doom or multiplayer Bond or some such other first person shooter... but you know with running and sweating instead of clicking and swearing.

I think the something that I'm coming down with (as mentioned in the previous post) is a concussion. Pretty cool, eh?

"Cause this is my United States of Whatever!" - Olly, "United States of Whatever"

Brendan: This is terrible.
Melissa: I think it's alternative.
Jason: It's an alternative to good.

- from Home Movies

There's a comic strip that I think is generally pretty funny called The Norm, but I don't think I've ever mentioned it on here so I'm taking the time to do that right now. Sound good?

Don't forget about the 7 $ Sox show at the New Daisy at 7PM tomorrow night.

I think I'm coming down with something... I'm not sure what though.

In case you didn't already know this I'll just go ahead and let you all in on a little secret: Nothing is ever simple.

Wednesday, January 08, 2003

I don't care what anyone says, I think this guy (James Kolchalka) is a genius. Everyone needs to go to his website.

In case there is anyone out there who isn't already aware, 7 $ Sox are a good group of kids who have always been super cool to me. Not only are they good kids, but I think they're also some pretty darn good punk rockers and they're going to be playing at the New Daisy at 7PM this Friday. You should make it a point to go.

Strong Bad continues to entertain me. I'd watch this I'm sure... so you probably would too... I bet.. I mean, probably.. right?

Yet another reason for me to hate Josh Hartnett. T-Bone from the Renegades of Phunk says this is "finally a valid reason he should be exterminated".

I should clarify that last statement a little bit. It's has indeed been a crazy last few days, but in a very good way I think. I think it's quite posible that my life is much different today than it was a week ago. More on this as it happens I'd imagine.

Anyway, I thought this was kinda interesting and you might too.. ok, you probably won't, but it's my gosh-darn website so I can put whatever I want up here. The Formula for Happiness?

It's been a crazy last few days...

You can file this one under "Shows What Chris Haley Knows" because December ended up being Hip Today's biggest month ever! And this was after I had written the month off since after a really big start to the month things had slowed down considerably, and I just gave up on checking with the server stuff to see how the site was doing for the month. Then for some reason I checked it tonight and it turns out December just barely beat the old record. All I can say is thanks to all of you for making it happen.. but an even bigger thanks to those of you who have been "pimpin' the Hip" around to your friends and family and co-workers and so on. Please keep doing so. And since I know one person is keeping up with this, the seventh song is I'm Not Invisible by Rocket From The Crypt.

The first teaser trailer for Quentin Tarantino's new flick Kill Bill has just been released and can be viewed here. See what you make of it. I've only watched it once and my guess is this flick is either going to be fantastic and possibly QT's crowning achievement to date, or one huge cluster-F.

Adam has told me that I need to inform all of you that Dave Chappelle has a new show on Comedy Central. It starts on January 27th, so mark your calendars now.

Every now and then it's probably a good idea to read a fable. This one is called The Happy Prince.

This is why Penny Arcade is funnier than you: "If he combined the razor sharp wit that I know he has with the raw artistic talent we’ve all seen the man would be unstoppable. Like Juggernaut, only he wouldn’t have a suit or anything. I mean he could get a suit but he wouldn’t really need it. It would just be like for show." - Gabe

Even though I wrote this, I still think it's kinda funny.

Random Pictures No. 6 has arrived for your viewing and looking at pleasure.

The sixth song is "Girls Own Love" by Andrew W.K.

"This next song is a song about not standing on the edge of the water when you can dive in." - Andrew W.K. on "I Get Wet"
