I've been waiting my whole life for this.

Worth the 19 years it's taken since the last one.
Worth every second I've spent waiting for it since then.
Worth the 25 years I've been alive that I've had to wait to see this happen.

Just saying that it's my favorite movie ever is hardly doing it justice.

It is my most sincere wish that you will see it and understand what I've meant all this time. That you'll feel changed like some of the people I've spoken to after the three times I've seen it.
That you'll be open to what it's trying to give you.
Because what it's trying to give you is one of the most powerful things you could receive. Hope.

From an MSNBC article..
Lois won her Pulitzer with the sour-grapes editorial “Why the World Doesn’t Need Superman,” and our own mainstream media are now taking their cues from it. They’re asking: Is Superman still “relevant” (i.e., profitable) in a moviegoing world that loves the dark suits and darker attitudes of the X-Men? Superman’s all red undies and boy scout niceties. Will the kids still dig him?

Here’s an answer. His relevance can be seen in how many groups are still laying claim to him. Some say he’s Jewish (fleeing a planetary holocaust, hiding in plain sight). Some say he’s gay (a secret life, changing in closets, flamboyant outfit). Some say he’s Jesus (sent by his heavenly father to show humans the light).

Me? I say he’s my nephew. Last Christmas I bought him a Superman T-shirt and now it’s all he can talk about. “You not Superman,” he tells anyone who’ll listen. “I Superman!” He’s three.

Will the kids still dig him?

What a dumb question. Of course they will. He’s Superman.

Arms length away...

This picture was not drawn by me or of me, but it made me laugh because I feel like it looks just like how I looked at our last show.
So there you go.
I'm sharing it with you.
I hope you enjoy it.

be weak, i'll be your weakness too..

One picture from the last show.

Now that I've had over a week to really let it all sink in, I can't tell you all how much it meant to me that we were able to do that show.
You'll pardon my state and take on this (possibly over-dramatic), but it was a special night for me.
To have that night and to be able to make it our own.
To share it with the people that it meant the most to and that meant the most.
For one shining moment in time we were everything we said we were and everything we said we could be.
All the years together.
All the sweat and fights and blood and bitter and excitement and anger and apathy and adrenaline and arrogance and tears and triumph.
For one night we were united again as brothers in arms in the battle for our rock 'n roll souls.
Our legacy and legend on the line.
For one night, yes, we took giant strides among mortal men as golden gods.

It may have been Mauxfaux's last show, but I don't think I can honestly say that I think April 5, 2006 was the end of our journey on the long road called rock and roll.

For those of you that were there, thank you for believing in us.

god gave rock and roll to you
gave rock and roll to you
gave rock and roll to everyone
god gave rock and roll to you
gave rock and rool to you
put it in the soul of everyone..

Looking for sparks in the gutter...

If you're unfamiliar with the character Gigan whom I mentioned in my earlier post, click here.

Other notes while watching Godzilla : Final Wars....

- Monster X is one of the best giant monster designs I've seen in a long time.
- Gigan v2.0 may very well be the worst monster design/redesign ever.
-
Mothra is really fast, but quite vulnerable.
-
Anguirus makes a great soccer ball, and the G-Man is quite a goalie.
-
Ebirah learned quite harshly that Godzilla is not a fan of seafood.
- Godzilla has similar feelings towards pollution. Poor
Hedorah.
-
Zilla (or G.I.N.O. as some people call him) looked great. Toho can do some mighty fine CGI.
-
King Seesar is as cute as a puppy sometimes.
- Though it was neat to see
King Ghidorah, I hated how he ended up in the movie. As an aside, I think it's ridiculous that KG is one of Godzilla's most powerful foes.
- Mothra ain't going out like no punk ass bitch.
- I hadn't really been familiar with
Manda before this flick, but I feel like he/she/it should be much more popular in Japan.
- Almost every scene that doesn't feature a giant monster is completely worthless to me.

In conclusion, Godzilla : Final Wars was awesome!

Todays' the day...

Gigan has just seen the light and learned the hard lesson we must all come to terms with at some point in our lives, and this is that you don't mess with Capital G.

Dr. Katz : Professional Therapist is officially coming to DVD on May 9.
For more info feel free to visit this site.
I couldn't be more pleased to hear this news, and if your'e reading this, chances are you feel the same.

I got to see Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit finally tonight. It was fantastic. Completely fantastic. It was funny how the short featuring "The Madagascar Penguins", though cute, only serves to show how much better W&G are. There's a big difference between tacky/sappy forced sentiment and genuine heart.

I'm trying to do this 2K6 thing right, so just to update you, my ghost button (though still available) wasn't the hit I thought it was going to be.

Although that made me very sad (what with it being so awesome and all), I've decided to carry on in spite of this with my efforts to make neat buttons for people to purchase on the internet.

To that end I have 4 new buttons I'll be unveiling shortly.

My hope is that one or more of them will find your fancy, and then tickle it.

Video Game Ideas.

In the course of working for places that sell video games together, Edward and I have come up with many an idea for a video game.
In an effort to catalog some of these ideas for the sake of posterity and so that they'll be a matter of public record I thought now was as good a time as any to put some of them here on the interweb.

(Edward, if you recall any of these ideas with a greater level of lucidity than I do, please let me know so that everyone can wallow in our opulence.)

Pretty Scenery : As best as I recall, the object of this game was to look at pretty scenery. The scenery could not be interacted with nor manipulated.

Foot Race : In this game you race. On foot. I can see this game playing out in more than one fashion. One would have you controlling the runner's movements with an analog stick or D-pad and the runner's speed with how quickly you could push a pre-designated button. Another iteration gives you absolutely no control over the racer. Instead, you would control things or characters surrounding the race, such as the person who hands the racer a cup of water.

Stop Watch : This game let's you control your very own virtual stop watch.

Jefferson Pang : I have no idea.

Lincoln Memorial : I'd have to assume our idea was that you'd visit the Lincoln Memorial.

Bicycle : Learn to ride a bicycle.

Chest Pains : This game had two featured gameplay options. One part was where next generation graphics would be employed to help one experience what it would be like to watch someone have chest pains. The other option was getting to be a vengeful god choosing who would receive the chest pains.

Step & Step : Step. Now, step again. Repeat. Repeat again. Now, repeat again.

I'm the last splash..

If we can put a man on the moon, why can't we put a man on the moon?

(I hope everyone noticed the smiling alien robot I'm holding.)

Since Batman Begins comes out on DVD today (2 disc special edition on the cheap at Amazondotcom), I thought this would be a fun/funny thing to link you to.. though if you haven't seen American Psycho it won't make a lick of sense. So yeah, it's safe to avoid it if you haven't seen that flick.

"So he's Bizarro Jerry."
"Bizarro Jerry?"
"Yeah, like Bizarro Superman, Superman's exact opposite, who lives in the backwards Bizarro world. Up is down, down is up, he says hello when he leaves, goodbye when he arrives."
"Shouldn't he say badbye? Isn't that the opposite of goodbye?"
"No, it's still goodbye."
"Does he live underwater?"
"No."
"Is he black?"
"Look, just forget the whole thing."

Anyone else ready to see that new Harry Potter flick? I just saw the latest international trailer for it, and it looks incredible. I sincerely hope that these movies stay profitable enough for all of the books to get made. Into movies, I mean... because there's no way I'm actually going to read them all.

If you didn't already know TiVo is fantastically magical.

The Family Guy movie lands on DVD this Tuesday, so if you're a fan be sure to keep an eye out for it... though chances are, if you're a fan you already knew that.
