The trailer for the new film from the creators of South Park has just been released.
It's called Team America : World Police.
I'm already excited.
Go see it at a theater near you in October.
Coming even sooner though, is a film who's jump across the pond I've been anxiously anticipating for some time now.
That film is Shaun of the Dead, a twisted UK horror romantic zombie comedy which will finally see a US release on September 24.
The film boasts a soundtrack that featuers some of my favorite bands, as well as cameos in the film from members of Ash and Coldplay to name a few.
Watch the trailer here.
Have a look at these pictures from Fox's next computer animated movie, Robots.
Picture 1
Picture 2
The flick is the work of Ice Age's Chris Wedge and will feature the voices of Ewan McGregor, Halle Berry, and Greg Kinnear among others.

Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, Apt Pupil, X-Men 1 & 2) has been named as the director to restart the Superman franchise for Warner Bros. He'll be bringing Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris along with him to write the script after the three worked so well together penning the second X-Men flick.
It's come to my attention that The WB has a new show based on "The Blue Collar Comedy Tour" called "Blue Collar TV". After hearing about this show I decided, in my infinite generosity, to help The WB by sending them my idea for a new name for the show that I think will really help bring in those key demographic numbers: Idiot TV. Doesn't that say it all so much more succinctly?
For those of you that are all about the bargain, Best Buy has Starsky & Hutch for $15.99 and both of the new Adult Swim releases (ATHF S2 & Sealab 2021 S1) for $24.99.
Circuit City has Old School, Super Troopers, or Zoolander for $9.99.
The loooooong delayed Special Edition Ed Wood DVD will finally be hitting store shelves (fingers crossed) on October 19.
Mandy Moore's Saved! will be coming to DVD on October 5. Also look for Rocky & Bullwinkle & Friends Season 2 on August 31, Super Size Me! and Ellen Season 1 on September 28.

More than a lot.
There's not much real rock 'n roll out there these days, but this is the real deal.
This is Scott Weiland's chance at rock god-hood.
All the pieces are there.
Over half of the songs on the album sound like they could be bonafide hit singles.
That's a lot more than I can say for a lot of albums.
If you're into rock, I'd say you'd be doing yourself a favor by picking it up... but if my word isn't good enough for you, you can listen to the entire album in streaming media format here.

Then take the poll to let us know which song you liked the best.
Then add that page to your favorites and check back often, as all information regarding the band will be available there.
Also, should you like what you hear, we're relying on you wonderful guys and girls to help us spread the word and get that link out there to as many people as is humanly possible.

How about a look at some screen grabs from the Uncut Japanese version of Kill Bill Vol. 1?
USA Today has news on some of the spceial features and goodies on the upcoming Star Wars Original Trilogy DVD Collection.
Alex Ross has done two poster mock-ups for a Superman feature film starring Tom Welling (of Smallville).
For the full story as well as a look at the pictures click here.
Mitsuteru Yokohama, the creator of Gigantor and Mighty Robo, has died at the age of 69 due to a fire at his home in Tokyo.
Richard Linklater is working on a follow-up to Waking Life called A Scanner Darkly.
I say follow-up only because this film too will be turning live-action footage into animated sequences.
Because no one demanded it, production is moving forward on Police Academy 9.
Speaking of sequels, Carrie-Anne Moss has signed on for Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible 3.
Details on the special edition DVD releases of Predator and The Bourne Identity (which will include a new beginning and ending).
The following is straight from Dark Horizons:
Jurassic Park IV
For a long time we've heard talk about Spielberg's 'great idea' for the story of the fourth "Jurassic Park" movie that has gotten people exicted about the franchise. Well long time DH informer 'Undergear' finally has the scoop on what that idea might be:
"All these rumors about Jurassic Park 4 are false. They are retooling the script (out to big name doctors right now) But here's the worst part... All this talk about this "brilliant" idea, well... I cannot begin to tell you how bad his idea is...The government has trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes. I am not kidding!".

A great Rolling Stone article on The Burden Brothers.
A band which I endorse 100%.
You should too.
Or at least check them out.
I know Spike TV isn't too worried about any controversy stemming from things said on their new animated series This Just In.
How do I know they're not worried?
Because no one is watching it.
Someone has to watch it to get offended and start complaining.
That's just how these things work.
I happened across it last night, and I've got to say, it really wasn't that bad.
Maybe people should start watching it.
I guarantee if they do, someone will find something to complain about.. and fast.

Ron Perleman and Thomas Jane have confirmed there will be at least one sequel to both Hellboy and The Punisher... though neither will have much to do with the other.
Due to the script being leaked during the last week, the producers have decided to wait even longer before unveiling the new costume Christian Bale will be wearing in Batman Begins.
Star Wars : Episode III will hit theaters on May 19, 2005.
Heath Ledger may be the next James Bond.

I guess someone needs to congratulate Hong Kong, because they've built Robocop.. and probably doomed us all to a life lived in subservience to robot overlords.
C'mon, we all saw those Terminator flicks.. you know it's only a matter of time.

If there's anything out there as wonderful as this, I haven't found it..
The Adventures of Seinfeld and Superman!
Harvard says downloading (of the illegal variety) is NOT responsible for the slump in records sales.
Ash (the one with the Boomstick) is making his way to comics.
Mothman lives!
The first pictures of the new Batmobile?
If I could only recommend one comic to a person, this would definitely be on the list of possible candidates: INVINCIBLE: Family Matters (Vol. 1)
You could waste $10 on a lot worse.
It's worth giving a try.
Actually, you can go here and check out the entire first issue...
then read the first issues of Grrl Scouts, The Clockmaker, and Powers.
Chances are you'll thank me.
And if you're bored and at work, even if you don't like the comics, at least it will have killed some time.

Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared
to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do
understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once
brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in
the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you
additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

The official site for BATMAN BEGINS is now online.
There's nothing there yet, except for the new logo/emblem, but it does look pretty right on.
Speaking of superhero movies, rumor has it that Jake Gyllenhaal is Kevin Smith's first choice to play The Green Hornet.
Quite a bit of news on Sin City.
"Show of hands: who here misses the days of extended guitar solos, striped leotards, falsetto vocals and songs demanding, 'Get your hands off my woman'? Yeah, me too. THE DARKNESS is here to put that hickey back on your neck, fire up the Camaro and party down at the nearest parking lot like it's 1979. Is the band for real? Yes. Does it rock? Yes. Is it hard to get around the multiple-octave range that Justin Hawkins is ripping in every song? Well, a little, but the band is gaining speed here in the States after selling more than a million copies of 'Permission to Land' (Atlantic) in its native Britain. I'll take THE DARKNESS over those whiny emo bands any day. At least they're getting chicks." - Dave MF'ing Grohl
There are a number of CDs worth checking out coming Tuesday.
Here's my rundown (in no particular order):
The Vines - Winning Days
HIM - Greatest Hits
Guns n' Roses - Greatest Hits
Bring Them to Your Knees: A Tribute to Guns N' Roses
The Punisher - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Eagles of Death Metal - Peace, Love, and Death Metal
Pedro the Lion - Achilles' Heel
Snow Patrol - Final Straw
Sugarcult - Palm Trees & Power Lines
Gary Jules - Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets
Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album) Special Edition
Also look for the first ever Weezer DVD, Video Capture Device.

The world is pretty ridiculous these days in general.
Fountains of Wayne are involved in a bit of this ridiculosity.
For those of you who care, the song in question is one of my favorite FoW songs ever.
Also for those of you who are interested, MAUXFAUX (the band I'm in) has finished recording our first EP and are in the process of mixing it to a state of finished, face-melting rock excellence.
We should be done by the end of next week at the latest.
Exciting, yeh?
For those of you who have heard rough mixes of the tracks, I apologize, because they don't begin to do the finished versions justice.
Go ahead and remove your socks, because they're about to get rocked.
Look for "The Collapse EP" in the record collections of people with good taste very soon.

Also, the title has been changed to Batman Begins.

Sean Astin (you know.. "Sam" in The Lord of the Rings) is apparently very interested in directing the big screen adaptation of The Fantastic Four. He's also claimed that if he gets the job, Orlando Bloom will play Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch).
Seinfeld fans can take comfort in the knowldege that all the differences between the show's stars have been settled and that all four will be taking part in the creation of bonus features for the upcoming DVDs.

For those of you who haven't heard yet, BUTCH WALKER has been signed to Epic Records and given his own (yet-to-be-named) imprint through which he will be releasing a live disc, a DVD, and then his long awaited sophmore solo album.

Josh Homme has kicked Nick Oliveri out of Queens of the Stone Age because of his excessive partying.
